Reliability Manager , Engineering Project Manager, 03/2005-11/2008

Reliability Engineering:

• Led the Reliability team of a fast-paced start-up to the successful qualification of a wide product offering for datacom and telecom markets ($15M/quarter). Managed the Reliability test lab and Failure Analysis activities with one Engineer and one Technician, with an annual budget of $450k:
• Developed, implemented and documented a comprehensive reliability management system, enabling the start-up to engage in business with key customers in the industry. Integrated customer requirements, industry standards and best practices with a cost sensitive approach.
• Tight cost control and thorough use of project management tools ensured that the reliability testing was completed on time and within budget.
• Served as a key member of the R&D organization, contributing to the PDP process. Performed DFMEA, failure rate prediction, highly accelerated stress testing and product qualification testing for new designs. Published numerous customer ready test reports, prepared presentations for customers and internal management.

Quality Management Systems & Assurance:

• Actively involved in ISO-9001:2000 registration; wrote and implemented procedures in compliance with ISO, industry and corporate guidelines; served as audit guide during successful surveillance and re-certification audits.
• Managed failure analysis for prototypes, production fall-out and customer returns. Led a cross-functional and multinational team to the timely resolution of a supplier quality problem, avoiding a massive product recall.
• Worked with suppliers to define the quality and reliability requirements of purchased components. Performed failure rate predictions based on part count method.
• Supervised incoming inspection of mechanical parts, electronic components, PCBs and PCBAs. Experience with IPC-A-610.
